Isabel Torres is a session guitarist based in London.
At the age of 23, Isabel’s experience ranges from joining X-Factor winner Shayne Ward’s band, to winning 3rd place on the Shure Guitar Competition for best unsigned European guitarist and touring with Declan McKenna, having supported Foals, Cage the Elephant, The Head and The Heart and opened for Norah Jones and Bastille.
Over the last few years Isabel has done sessions on Guitar, Keys & Backing Vocals, for BBC (Live Lounge and Maida Vale), VEVO, Billboard and Rolling Stone, played at The NME Awards and toured internationally, performing in iconic venues and music festivals across the world such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, SummerSonic, amongst others.
Alongside of this, Isabel has had TV appearances on major television channels. She performed at “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS) in August 2016; In September of the same year she performed at the iconic British music television program “Later with Jools Holland” (BBC2), on "Conan" (TBS) in 2018 had previously had appearances in several Portuguese television channels, namely RTP, SIC, Porto Canal & TVI.
As for Musical Theatre work, Isabel has played on SIX The Musical in the West End as well as having been the lead guitarist on American Idiot and Wasted.
Isabel’s musical journey began at the age of 8 when she started playing classical guitar, followed by electric guitar at 13 taking private lessons with guitarist and composer Sandro Norton (Mmus).
Furthermore, Isabel graduated from BIMM Institute London in 2016, with a degree in Popular Music Performance. She had previously studied at ICMP in London, taken courses with Gary Burton (Berklee College of Music) and Barry Harris and has completed a music course at YALE University since graduating.
